Annual Recruitment Events

Prospective families are welcome to join us at these public events to get information about our Pack and meet our leadership.

August 18, 2026 - Sign Up Night - Hidden Oak Elementary at 6:30pm

August 22, 2026 - Pack Information Meeting - Covenant Presbyterian at 10:00am

August 26, 2026 - Sign Up Night - Terwilliger Elementary at 6:30pm

August 30, 2026 - Welcome Back Party - Covenant Presbyterian at 10:00am

Prospective families who find our pack after our recruitment season has ended are encouraged to email gainesvillepack71@gmail.com about visiting a meeting. We accept new members all year long!

Regular Meeting Schedule

For members who have joined our Pack, we offer a regular meeting schedule full of activities for every age level.

Pack Meetings - Once a month

The entire Pack meets together on the third Thursday of every month. These meetings center around a monthly theme of character education and include fun group activities.

Den Meetings (grade level groups) - Twice a month

Den Meeting nights vary by den and can change every year based on the preferences of the leaders and members of that den. Den meetings are when scouts complete age-specific curriculum that counts towards competing their rank requirements. 

Special Events

Outings 

Our outings are designed to get kids out in nature around our community. We go on nature hikes, visit parks and museums, and host guest speakers. Over the summer we offer additional outings as part of our Summertime Fun program. These special events are announced as scheduled on our pack calendar, which is available to families after joining the Pack.

Campouts 

Pack 71 offers a robust camping schedule with weekend opportunities all year long at a variety of locations. The cost of attending campouts A general idea of our camping calendar looks like this:

• Monster Bash, October at Camp Shands

• Zoo Campout, November at Brevard Zoo

• Cub Holiday, December at Camp La No Che

• Medieval Faire, February at Camp Shands

• Pack Campout, March at Fort Clinch State Park

• Cub Twilight Camp, June at Westwood Middle SChool
